A member of the Ursu family deposits cow manure with a wheelbarrow in Deluț. The cow manure is deposited and then used to fertilize the pastures and the vegetable garden of the house. The Ursu family farm has 20 dairy cows, of the Romanian Spotted Cattle breed, grazing on alpine pastures. The Ursu family also collect milk from families in the area that raise cows, and together with the milk that their cows produce, they manage to process about 900 liters of milk a day, from which they make traditional cheese.

Bettine goat farm has about 100 Saanen goats, which produce dairy products that are in high-demand in cities in northeastern Romania. Although it is already March, it is extremely cold outside, with temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius at night, and the animals must be kept sheltered. Many goats gave birth and the kids, some of whom are only two weeks old, should be kept warm and bottle-fed. At this farm most of the workers are people with physical or mental disabilities, the farm’s social inclusion role being extremely important.

A few years ago, the Lazurca family decided to move to the village, both for the tranquility it offers, but also for raising poultry, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, as a source of healthy food. They have almost 30 birds and use them for their meat and eggs or to barter with their neighbors for other products.

Patients with mental health problems sow the vegetable garden at Căpâlnaș Psychiatric Hospital. The hospital’s vegetable garden is already in its third year of existence and patients love to work there. This activity has a beneficial therapeutic effect on their mood, but at the same time provides a supplement of healthy vegetables to their daily meal.

Rik Werner pushes a tractor to attach an agricultural machine in Bogata. Rik Werner is a Dutchman who first came to Romania in 1993 in practice while studying agronomy in the Netherlands. He was impressed by the fertility of the land in Transylvania and later, in 2013, he bought 9 hectares of land and set up an organic vegetable farm.

Three young people (Constantin Straton, Ciprian Straton and Lucian Straton) laid the foundations of the factory in 2019, which offers herbs, teas, dehydrated fruits, dehydrated vegetables for cooking and various sauces. Everything they produce is based on carefully selected organic herbs, fruits and vegetables.

Marius Lungu takes the smoked products out of the smoker at The Smoke Factory in Valea Adâncă. After working for many years as a chef at several restaurants, Marius Lungu opened a small family factory that produces smoked meats. He says that in order to provide natural products, he buys meat only from verified local producers, which he then processes with traditional methods: only salt, spices, heat and a lot of smoke from wild cherry wood.

A baker applies a honey glaze to a ”martyr”, a traditional cake, at the Bread Basket bakery. Tradition says that on March 9 in the homes of Orthodox Christians the cakes called "martyrs" are eaten, in memory of the 40 Holy Martyrs of Sevasta. The dough figurines that resemble the number eight are made of plain dough and glazed with honey and crushed nuts.

He says more and more customers prefer to buy quality food from local producers and avoid products from supermarkets, even if the prices are a little higher.
